$3,000 and other prizes - make the most viral video and win! Showcase your creativity and grasp of viral video using the punchline “Come On! Spread Me!"
At Viralskool we look at "viral video" as a genre or a format - just like "feature film", "documentary", "short" and now "viral video". What we're defining as a viral video is a short entertaining clip that people want to share. Or put another way, "spreadable entertainment".
We're asking you to create a spreadable video to promote this community and to promote yourself. Remember that the more your video is shared, the more people discover your work. And with our link back to your Calling Card there’s even a chance to promote your feature or short film!
You’re free to choose whatever subject matter you want – funny, cool, scary, pets, sport – just so long as you follow these guidelines:
1. Your video should be about 90 seconds or less. You can make it longer if you wish but it might not be as effective.
2. The last frame of your video must be one of the “video bumpers” provided in the assignment Resources. We suggest adding one second of the bumper as some video sharing sites can clip the tail of the video. Don’t forget to add your name as the copyright owner and give credit for the music!
3. Your video can follow one or more of the styles discussed in our Viral Video Styles & Tips guide. They are: - Repeat & innovate: keep it fresh
- Do This at Home/Mash-Up
- How Did They Do That? Did They Really Do That?
- Outrageous (ly Funny)
- Sensational Story
- Surreal
4. Your video should finish with one of the following phrases which can be spoken, written, sung, drawn – however you want to present the phrase is your choice but it must be one of either of these: - Come on! Spread Me!
- Made for sharing. Go on, pass it on.
